LGC helped produce a one-of-a-kind pop-up art and music exhibit in a customized space at 9th and Spring Garden during the Democratic National Convention. Using our organic network of cohorts within Philadelphia, including leaders within the arts community, LGC helped introduce national brands such as Rock the Vote and Task Force PR to the city at large. We facilitated strategic partnerships leading up to the event, helped conceptualized programming from start to finish, coordinated community engagement throughout the week, arranged staffing at various locations and promoted events across all assets. Multimedia branding included onsite photography and a recap video. All told, Truth to Power drew more than 10,000 visitors and 300 million social media impressions.
The final product featured more than 25 hours of programming filled with paintings and installations by the likes of Banksy, Shepard Fairey and Tatyana Fazlalizadeh. Panels featured heavy hitters from every walk of life, including New Jersey Sen. Cory Booker, My Peoples host Rosario Dawson, Black Lives Matter founder Alicia Garza, journalist and immigration activist Jose Antonio Vargas and Philly rapper/legend Freeway. The powerful pieces offered visceral, socially conscious statements on justice and activism, and unlike most events during the DNC, Truth to Power was free and open to the public, creating the city’s only, truly democratic gathering of people.
We capped off the festivities by facilitating, staffing and promoting a free concert by Ty Dolla $ign and The Black Eyed Peas at The Fillmore that filled the venue to capacity. A VIP-only party featured local DJ Sonny James, and allowed high profile guests to relax in a private room while sipping on cocktails and catered fare.
